OCMEA Scholarships

OCMEA offers a scholarship grant to graduating high school seniors who are enrolled as a music major in a college music program. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet the following criteria: 

• Attend a school that is a member of OCMEA. 

• Attend college in the fall semester, enrolled as a music major. 

• Successfully complete a juried audition. 

Audition Requirements

• Vocal applicants: perform two songs, one from the Classical or Romantic period, and one of the applicant's choice. 

• Percussion applicants: demonstrate ability on mallet percussion as well as another percussion instrument of the applicant's choice. 

• Piano applicants: perform selections from two contrasting periods. 

• Wind, brass, and string applicants: perform one solo representative of the applicant's performance level. 

• Memorizing is suggested, but not required. 

• Applicant must furnish accompaniment if music performed requires accompaniment. 

• At least two original copies of the music must be furnished to the audition committee.
